i mean the mac pro plays in the same price range as xeon workstations from hp. It's simply not consumer hardware. Same for the display that ranges at similar price ranges as high professional monitors from eizo with similar or even lower specs. So compared to a Macbook these new Products have a way more reasonable pricing. The 6k base Model has hardware that costs at least 4.5k if you buy the parts by yourself. And that without a Case, OS and any support besides the warranty on the single parts. And yes to get a apple stand with more features than the stock one 1k is pretty expensive but the display is having vesa mount screw holes on the back so you are free to buy any stand you like from another company. This is all Hardware only developed for a very few Professionals with the need of a lot of processing power. And that are guys not looking for the base model ... they aim for setups wich will cost way over 20k even if they buy it from hp.
